Alex Manning is a former Industrial Engineering Manager who decided to pursue his true passion of programming and data analysis. Katamari was originally written as a purely front end project for App Academy. He is currently looking for a Junior Developer position where he can apply his programming skills to any, and all, problems that can be thrown at him.
The balls bouncing actually follow the laws of physics! It uses a set of simple vector equations to calculate velocity and direction given an elastic collision, with the mass of the ball being the inverse of their size. You can read more about the math here
As the balls collide, different chimes let out, leading to a new experience each time. Those specific sounds were created as part of the Hatnote project, which is an audiovisual representation of Wikipedia being updated. This site was one of the many that made me say "I want to be a developer"
